In its short-sightedness, blogger has turned its back on those of us stuck with old operating systems and I'm forced to find a new blog host. You will now find MickMathersARTblog at Blog.com - use the direct link found in the masthead and remember to update your bookmarks. This place will continue as another archive for a large body of my work. As many of you know, my primary medium and working method is digital collage composed of manipulated photographs often combined with digital drawing & generative images. Netlabels, bands and musicians can view samples of my CD Cover Art at Mick Mather Illustration located on Tumblr. In another life I was an Arts & Culture consultant specializing in revitalization planning through creative public art projects and programs with Economic & Community Development Departments of towns, villages and cities. In these hard financial times this work is more important than ever and I still accept consultancy inquiries. You can contact me by email at: mickmather@yahoo.com

Save My Studies -

"Mick"
pastel study by Rob D'Agostino
I'm not going to go into all of the details of The Save My Studies Project here because my good friend Rob tells it better. In a nutshell, the pastel sketch of yours truly, seen above, will soon be available at auction on eBay. I believe the minimum bid will open at just $20 ... but, the higher the bidding goes, the better for Rob - and for myself! - since we each get half of the profit. Truth be told? I think I've already received more than my fair share when Rob had to bribe me with one Shiraz after another to keep me still - don't tell him that though!

Has Shiraz a soothing effect, makes you sit still??? Amazing! It must have been plenty of!

I like the colours in this pic, grey is not a dull colour, much underestimated, I think.

LMAO - you guessed right when you said, "It must have been plenty of!"

Rob often uses a limited palette and it's the paper that's grey. We both attended the same drawing class for years and years - the teacher taught us to use tinted or stained papers for our drawings and studies.
